After a months-long absence prompted by Apple updating their mobile operating system to iOS 6 – Google Maps is back! The official Google Maps app returned to Apple’s App store yesterday as a standalone app. The new app is free and includes turn-by-turn navigation (something lacking in the last manifestation of Google Maps on the iOS platform), an integrated street view, an a 3-D like Google Earth view. Wordpress launched the latest version of their CMS and blogging platform today. This latest version is named “Elvin” in honor of drummer Elvin Jones. There are a number of new feature upgrades but the most notable difference is a new image management system. The new media manager is “a completely re-imagined flow for uploading photos and creating galleries.” In addition, the default theme, Twenty Twelve, is mobile responsive and some updates were made to the dashboard styles.
